Notice

Amtrak has advised private car owners that, effective immediately, the common carrier
will no longer allow private cars to be placed on, or removed from, Amtrak trains to
travel to most cities across the US. This could shut down many
charter businesses, including our own LARail, and deprive riders of a choice. It means that these vintage cars, dating back to the 1950s, will no longer be seen by the
public.

Amtrak has also announced that the railroad will no longer approve most special trains,
such as excursion trains and Santa Trains that bring revenue and entertainment into
communities nationwide.

You can help

We ask that you take time to reach out to your representatives in Washington in support of Private Railcar travel and the Heritage Rail Industry. You can also sign this petition on change.org to motivate Amtrak to reverse this decision.
